Families looking for a memorable day out will love our Ballycotton Lighthouse Tours. This one-of-a-kind experience offers a refreshing escape for all ages, with stunning views of Ballycotton Bay from the top of the lighthouse. The boat ride to the island takes about 15 minutes each way, followed by a guided tour of the lighthouse that lasts roughly an hour. Led by knowledgeable local guides, the tour brings the island’s rich history to life. Please note: the tour is not suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs, pets, or children under 3 years.
The weather can vary, so don’t forget to bring sun cream, water, and a rain jacket if rain is expected. Suitable footwear is required, as some areas are uneven and include a steep climb up a path rich in history.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled tour at the Ballycotton Sea Adventure kiosk located at the pier. Meet your guide at the kiosk, where your ticket will be checked. Your booking is not valid without a confirmation email. If you have booked but do not receive a confirmation email, please contact us directly as soon as possible.
Safety briefing will be provided before boarding the passenger boat. Animals are not allowed on the tour or the island. Lifejackets are provided and must be worn this is company policy. Don’t forget your camera the views are incredible!We appreciate your understanding and flexibility in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
If you’re late, your spot is non-refundable and non-transferable. We really recommend giving yourself plenty of time to get to Ballycotton and find parking. It’s a lively little East Cork village and parking can fill up fast especially on weekends. Because tours are in high demand, we may not be able to fit you into a later one. If you arrive late, you’ll unfortunately miss your booking.
Please note that sea and weather conditions can change quickly. For your safety, Ballycotton Lighthouse Tours may occasionally be cancelled at short notice even on sunny days if strong or easterly winds make it unsafe to dock on the island. We understand this can be disappointing, but your safety is always our top priority. If your tour is cancelled due to weather, you’ll be notified by email and offered: A voucher to reschedule for another day, or A full refund of your booking. To avoid any surprises, we recommend checking your email (including your spam/junk folder) before setting out for your tour. We’ll do our best to keep you informed and help you rebook if needed.
